SETTING UP
- Getting the equipment out and getting ready for filming can be a hazard, if you don't enable the equipment together properly then you will have problems throughout the day when using the equipment for filming.
- The risk is that the equipment will get broken if it hasn't been put together properly. For example, if you don't clip the camera onto the tripod correctly and it falls off while you are filming, it will break and you may lose the filming you have previously filmed if it wasn't saved.
- Everyone using the equipment are the people in danger because if the any of the equipment isn't put together correctly and then breaks throughout the day, it will be those people responsible who will have to replace the equipment, meaning pay for new stuff or pay to get it fixed, depending on the damage.
- Simply, make sure that when you put the equipment away the day before it is put away correctly so that when you get it out to set up the next day, it is easy to enable. Also, you could double check it all over once you have put it all together to make sure everything is secure.
FILMING
- A possible hazard when filming is the weather conditions, for example, you may be wanting to film outside and have nice weather, but it could be heavily raining, so this wouldn't be possible.
- The equipment could get broken from water damage, there could be a tripping hazard with the wires etc and if the floor is slippery from rain, then there is more risk of the equipment getting broken.
- The camera man could suffer from an electric shock, if the weather is bad, when using the equipment. Also, if the camera man slips over from the ground being wet due to weather conditions, then as well as the equipment getting broken, the camera man/director/actors etc could get hurt as well.
- You could try and use a cover over the equipment, especially electrical equipment, to protect it from the weather. This cover could be a marquee or gazebo etc.
WRAP
| - Sometimes when wrapping up at the end of the day people rush and don't pack the equipment up the way they should. If filming the next day in the same place, people may leave the equipment where it is so they don't have to set up the next day. |
- The risk of this is the equipment can get broken, because of this you may lose the work you have just filmed, or you may not be able to use some of the equipment again. If the equipment is left out over night or just for a period throughout the day, it could get stolen or if the weather is bad it could get broken/damaged.
- The people that are handling the equipment are the people in danger because they are the ones that need to sort out the equipment. If the equipment gets lost, stolen, broken, or isn't packed away in the correct way or place, then they could be held responsible for that and so they would be the ones that would have to pay out for a new set of equipment.
| - You need to take your time when packing away the equipment so that nothing gets broken or damaged. A list could be created so that you can tick off everything as you pack up, ensuring that all equipment is being packed away correctly and to make sure nothing is forgotten |
